Summary
Databricks Cost Lab is a static website. We do not require accounts, and the cost calculator runs in your browser against public JSON rates. We do not intentionally collect names, passwords, or Databricks credentials.
What we do not collect
- No user registration or login
- No server-side storage of calculator inputs (inputs stay in your browser session)
- No intentional collection of workspace IDs, API tokens, or cloud credentials
Do not paste secrets, personal data, or production connection strings into any form or email to us.
Hosting & server logs
This site may be hosted on a static CDN / pages provider (for example Cloudflare Pages or similar). Hosts typically record standard request logs (IP address, user agent, URL, timestamp) for security and reliability. We do not use those logs to build marketing profiles.
Cookies & advertising
Today the core site is education content and a client-side calculator. If we enable Google AdSense (or similar) later, third-party ads may set cookies or use local storage to measure ad performance and show relevant ads. You can control cookies in your browser settings. When AdSense is active, Google’s policies and privacy terms also apply to ad-related processing.
We may also use privacy-friendly analytics (page views only) in the future. If we do, this page will be updated with the provider name.

The file /public/samples/retail_orders.csv is synthetic retail data (CC0). It is not real customer information.
